Tell the Truth or Date to Lie
A poem by Megan★
Truth or Dare?
Truth or lies?
There’s no difference in my eyes.
It starts out as a tiny fib
A baby squirming in their crib
But given time, it will grow older
And morph into a deadly boulder
A parasite with poison spikes
Infecting a new host whenever it likes
A lie can develop a life of its own
It feeds on integrity ‘til overthrown
Flinging faith into ashes, trust crumbles to dust
You want to revolt, but your time is now up.
The lie will take over and burden your heart
Clinging like a mad lover, ‘til death do you part
Now your soul is weighed with the Feather of Truth
It’s too heavy, say goodbye to innocent youth
As you keep on falling into the abyss
You know you never wanted any of this
Yet you kept allowing your fib to expand
Baby spiders you raised eat away at your hand
If you’d just told the truth, this wouldn’t occur
Now boundaries dissolve as your vision blurs
Truth or Dare?
Truth or lies?
You thought they were different, but then you died.
